Snow & Snowman Fun!

Last week we enjoy snow and snowman activities. Now, if we could only get some REAL snow, we'd have one super happy teacher! :)

We talked about the letter 'Ss', the sound it makes, and different words that start with the letter S. We had fun doing some button counting with snowman pictures, making letters with magnet pieces, playing with "snow" (shaving cream) at the sensory table, selling and buy ice cream in our ice cream shop, and the biggest hit...SNOWMAN BOWLING.

At this rate, we could be snowman bowling well into March! This week & next week we will be doing Penguins! This is the first time I have a done a penguin unit so I am looking forward to it!

Ms. Tammy is slowly starting to teach! YAY! She did calendar & greeting time on Friday and did a great job! She will take over calendar this week, and plan a large group activity for us! :) We can't wait to see what she has planned for us!

Check out the photos below for some of the fun things we did last week!

Almost a strike!

Marble run is still a hit!

Working hard to stack those pins!

Practicing fine motor skills with q-tip painting!

Making letters & recording them!

What fun we had in the "snow"!

Making a cotton ball snowman!

Working hard to put 1 cotton ball in each circle.

Miss Blecki's favorite...marshmallow snowmen!!

The kids did great with this! This is not a quick project! :)
Be sure to stop back in on Sunday *hopefully* to check out some new updated pictures! Please remember: NO SCHOOL ON WEDNESDAY JANUARY 25 & FRIDAY JANUARY 27!

We're Back!

Our first week back from Winter Break seemed to fly by! I was so proud of all the students and how well behaved they were coming back from having 12 days off of school! They went right back into our routine with a few reminders here and there. Excellent job! Very proud of them all! We have also welcomed our new student teacher, Ms. Tammy!

We have added a science area and a math area to our center choices. While we do math and science activities during other parts of our day, Miss Blecki felt that we didn't do enough. So I will now be planning specific activities for them at center time. You will soon see these new areas included on our daily sheets.

Here's a look at all the fun we had our first week back!

Fine motor practice! Adding marshmallows to the hot chocolate cups!

Getting ready for winter with hats and gloves!

Playing with the farm animals in the toy area!

They set up a picnic and brought over all of the items they needed!

Looking for letters on snowflakes.

Making cups of hot chocolate! Brown paint mix with hot chocolate mix!

More marshmallow counting!

Marble run- a new toy out for the first time!

Checking out the magnetic bottles!

Watch the pipe cleaners move up and down with the magnets!

Writing the letters we find!
This week we will be doing snow & snowman activities. This is our only 5 day week in the month of January! Please be sure to make additional day care arrangements for  Friday January 27th if need be! There is NO PRE-K that day!
